Essential and Desirable Qualifications for ARCI Scientist Recruitment:
Essential Qualification:
- Doctorate Degree in Physical Sciences or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Fifteen (15) years’ experience in research and development in industrial and academic Institutions or science & technology organizations, out of which seven (7) years shall be in administration, planning, development and coordination of R&D and related areas.
- Experience of evolving, managing and directing major science and technology development programmes; and
- Published research work of high standard and/or good record of patents granted/filed.
Desirable Qualification:
- Post Doctorate research in Physical Sciences or doctorate in Engineering or Technology from a recognized Institute as evidenced by certification by such University or Institute and publication of research work in journals of repute.
- Experience in conception, management & implementation of major scientific or technology development programmes.
- Experience in technology transfer and/or implementation of industry-relevant projects.
- Proven track record of application Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) techniques/ computational calculation methods for materials development by way of funded projects and relevant publications shall be an added advantage.
Note: Period spent on acquiring essential qualifications shall not count towards experience. However, Competent Authority will count the period spent on post-doctorate research in a university or research institute, as evidenced by certification from such a university or institute and publications in reputable journals, as experience, up to a maximum of two (2) years.

Selection Process for ARCI Scientist:
1. Preliminary Screening/Short-listing:
A Committee as constituted by the Competent Authority, ARCI will screen the applications. Based on the essential qualification criteria etc., relevance of the experience for the post applied and number of years of relevant experience (based on the data provided in on-line applications by the candidates), research proposal submitted and such other parameters as deemed necessary for screening/short-listing. The Screened-in/short-listed candidates will be called for Personal Interview.
2. Mode of Selection for Selection for the posts of Scientist “G”:
Shortlisted candidates shall make a crisp presentation for 30-45 minutes. The first half of the presentation shall highlight achievements of research work carried out by the candidate. While, The second part shall describe the research proposal and explain how their expertise is suited for implementing the proposal. A separate questionnaire form for research proposal submission will be mailed to candidates.
Upload a List of Compulsory Documents:
01. Passport size photograph (in 1st page of the application)
02. Signature (in last page of the application)
03. Valid photo Identity Card (PAN/Aadhar/Voter ID/Passport/Driving License/Official ID)
04. Experience letter/Certificate for all the experience claimed in the online application
05. No Objection Letter (NOC) from the present employer, in case if presently employed.
06. SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD Certificate (if applicable)
General Terms and Conditions:
- Only Indian nationals need to apply.
- The particulars furnished by the candidate in his/her online application form will be taken as final. The computer will processes the data entry based on these particulars only. Therefore, candidates should be careful while filling-in the details/uploading relevant documents etc.
- Candidates should also note that the details provided by them in their online application are taken at their face value. The onus of proving the correctness and authenticity of the same, as and when required, lies with the candidates.
- Short-listed candidates must submit a hardcopy of the online application along with the uploaded documents at the time of the Personal Interview. This submission should include self-attested copies of educational qualifications, experience, caste certificates (for SC/ST/OBC/EWS), and disability certificates (for PWD/Divyangjan), among others.
- Candidates working in Government Departments, Universities/Recognized research institutions/Semi-government, Statutory or Autonomous Organizations shall upload “No Objection Certificate – NOC” while submitting online application. If short-listed for the Personal Interview, candidate must forward a copy of the application along with the NOC through the proper channel by post. Candidate should also upload the experience letter or certificate for the experience claimed. If not uploaded, your application will not be considered.
- Period of experience mentioned against the above said post shall be counted from the date of acquiring the prescribed essential qualifications that are obtained from recognized universities/ Institutions shall be counted upto the closing date of application.
- The competent authority can relax the age limit, qualification, and/or experience for exceptionally meritorious candidates.
Research proposal & Referee Details Submission:
- Research Proposal: Authority will mail a separate questionnaire form for research proposal submission to the candidates.
- Referee Details: Candidates are requested to provide complete name, designation and full postal address with phone / e-mail ID of referees in the space provided in the online application form. One of the referees’ should be, preferably, from the current/most recent employer or immediate superior. The referees listed should ideally be closely familiar with the candidate’s work or familiar with the candidate as his/her professor, lecturer etc. Candidates who are applying for Scientist “G” post are requested to note that separate reference forms will be emailed by us to the referees for their comments.
Authority will not consider incomplete, illegible, or multiple applications (for the same post) without the prescribed application fee, required valid certificates, or other necessary uploads. Interim enquires will not be entertained.
In case of any dispute, the case shall be settled in the Courts of Hyderabad jurisdiction only.
