Indian Air Force invites application from Indian Men and Women from Indian Citizens as per Citizenship Act 1955 to join as Group ‘A’ Gazetted Commissioned Officers in Indian Air Force for Flying and Ground Duty in Technical and Non Technical Branches. The Courses commencing in July 2025 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches through Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) – 02/2024 or NCC Special Entry.

How to apply and fill up the form? 1. Post opening the website: https://afcat.cdac.in/AFCAT/ – go to Candidate Login and click on the option AFCAT 02/24. 2. Sign up here by entering a valid email id and phone number. Applicants will receive a password on their registered email and phone number. 3. After successful registration, sign-in with registered email id and system generated password. Reset your password 4. Candidates must remember their login ID and password for future use during the examination process 5. Now select the option AFCAT or NCC through which you want to apply. 5. You will get detailed instructions here which you must read carefully. 6. Below the instructions you can proceed with your application. 7. Make payment (applicable only for AFCAT). Instructions for Short Service Commission (SSC) as Commissioned Officers in Indian Air Force: 1. The engagement period for Flying Branch SSC officers is fourteen years from the date of Commissioning. 2. The initial tenure of SSC officers in Ground Duty (Tech and Non-tech) branches would be for a period of 10 years. An extension of 4 years may be granted subject to service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability and merit. 3. Grant of Permanent Commission (PC) (at a later date) would be considered subject to service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability and merit and as per prevailing policies on the subject. 4. SSC officers are not entitled for grant of pension. |
Training for Commissioned Officers in Indian Air Force will commence in the first week of July 2025 for all the courses at Air Force Academy Dundigal (Hyderabad). The duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 62 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments.
